Sleepy Hollow offers a friendly, laid-back, rather idealic community location with mostly larger ranch style homes on fenced acreage. There are beautiful estates and newly updated homes hidden away, but many of the 50s and 60s ranch-style homes in Sleepy Hollow are in need of an update.
While Sleepy Hollow has a bit longer commute, with a fair amount of school and rush-hour traffic on Butterfield Road, the peaceful, natural, family-oriented feeling is exactly why this area is so desirable. And, it always feels about 5 degrees warmer on a sunny summer day in Sleepy Hollow. Hidden Valley Elementary School and San Domenico School are both located in Sleepy Hollow. Sleepy Hollow has an abundance of hiking, mountain biking, swimming, tennis, and dog walking trails locals enjoy regularly.
The community pool is open seasonally, and is also home to the Sleepy Hollow Swim Team. The community celebrates the 4th of July with a Fun Run, 4th of July Parade down Butterfield Road, and lunch and dinner festivities at the Sleepy Hollow Pool. Sleepy Hollow is an unincorporated part of San Anselmo, and there is an active Home Owners Association.
